Active Ideas Review

Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches about how ideas begin, change and become clearer. A good proposal offers one distinct question, a clear point for readers and a scope that can be handled without relying on professional advice or unverifiable claims.

What to pitch

Propose an explanation, comparison, account of creative practice, look at a relevant history or a modest exercise readers can adapt. Strong pieces have a specific subject: for instance, one kind of prompt or one stage of revision, rather than a broad tour of creativity. Please show what your piece adds and who might find it useful.

A useful proposal

Through the Contact page, send a working title, a short summary, the main idea you would develop and a few lines about your relevant experience or interest. Mention any sources, image needs or potential conflicts that matter to the proposal. An idea for an article is enough to start; a finished draft is not required.

How we consider submissions

We look for a clear voice, careful reasoning and a subject that fits Active Ideas Review. We may ask questions or suggest a narrower focus. Please send original work and identify material or ideas that belong to someone else. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication.
